Ser diferente faz parte do que significa ser humano, mas, muitas vezes, ainda é comum observar que em vez de existir respeito, existe preconceito pelo 'diferente'. Nesta edição do 'TV Câmara Entrevista', vamos conversar sobre os desafios da educação inclusiva e quais os caminhos que precisamos percorrer para garantir esse direito fundamental a todo cidadão. O programa recebeu a psicopedagoga Natália Cortelli para conversar sobre este importante tema.

CREATE are pleased to release our first ever Supported Decision Making training video, Voice Your Choice, designed for anyone who is caring for, supporting or working with a young person with a disability in out-of-home care or preparing to leave care.
The video provides an overview of key supported decision making principles for effective practice, will up-skill all participants and empowers disability or care sector professionals to work alongside young people with disability in the care system.

CREATE Foundation is the national peak consumer body representing the voices of children and young people with an out-of-home care experience. We provide programs and services to children and young people in care and develop policy and research to advocate for a better care system.

Simply Said: Understanding Accessibility in Digital Learning Materials

The National Center on Accessible Educational Materials and PACER Center have developed a brief video in easy-to-understand language that provides an overview of accessibility features to look for in digital learning materials. This open-captioned video is intended to increase awareness of: 1) features that can be designed into digital materials to increase broad usability and accessibility and, 2) the importance of considering accessibility features in the selection digital educational materials. The Art and Science of Long Distance Collaboration

This session focuses on how to develop and maintain long distance collaborations to foster research, leadership, and professional opportunities. The presenters address both books and tools that are available to assist with the collaborative process as well as practical issues that arise in collaboration, in three video segments.

BIOS (AS OF JULY 2012)

Dr. Mark Horney is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Oregon and Director of the Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE). He is also the Principal Investigator for the Mathematics eText Research Center (MeTRC) which involves the collaboration of five research teams across the country investigating digital reading in mathematics by students with learning disabilities or visual impairments. His research interests include hypertext, Web-based reading & study environments, and computer-based study strategies.

Dr. Jamie Basham is an assistant professor in the Department of Special Education research at the University of Kansas. He is the Principal Investigator on an OSEP funded Steppingstones project. He is a co-Principal Investigator in the newly funded Center for Online Learning and Students with Disabilities which involves the collaboration of three organizations - University of Kansas, CAST, and NASDE. Jamie is also the co-founder and executive director of the UDL-Implementation Research Network. His research is focused on student learning in modern learning environments chiefly related to the application of UDL.
